چکیده
We here estimate past temperature and hydroclimate variations in eastern Anatolia for marine isotope stages 4 to 1 (MIS4 MIS1) respectively using branched glycerol dialkyl tetraethers (brGDGTs) the hydrogen isotopic composition of n-C29 leaf-wax n-alkanes (?2Hwax) stored sedimentary record Lake Van (Turkey). Our millennial-scale lipid biomarker records reflect warm wet conditions during interstadials/interglacials colder dryer periods with increased evapotranspiration aridity stadials/glacials. The degree methylation 5-methyl brGDGTs (MBT´5me) indicates increasing mean annual air temperatures (MAT) stadial/interstadial transitions, that characterize Dansgaard-Oeschger events, last glacial termination. Based on effects changes precipitation amount apparent enrichment factors between ?2H C29 precipitation, a total increase about 200 mm transitions from stadials interstadials, 300–350 glacial-interglacial can be determined, line previous paleoclimate reconstructions Eastern Mediterranean. High sterol concentrations sediments deposited humid interstadials increases lake level, vegetation density algal blooms, whereas lower values versus isoprenoid ratio (BIT) likely reflects niche Thaumarchaeota resulting enhanced windiness mixing water column periods. This quantitative reconstruction (Turkey), as it is optimally situated respond North Atlantic climate change via large-scale wind fields shed light into global variability.

Dansgaard-Oeschger events: tipping points in the climate system
The largest variability in temperature over the last sixty thousand years is connected with Dansgaard-Oeschger events. Various prototype models have been proposed to explain these rapid climate fluctuations, but until now no observational constraint has been forwarded to choose between different theories. We assess the bimodality of the system reconstructing the topology of the multi-dimensiona...
متن کاملIndian Ocean climate and an absolute chronology over Dansgaard/Oeschger events 9 to 13.
Oxygen-isotope ratios of a stalagmite from Socotra Island in the Indian Ocean provide a record of changes in monsoon precipitation and climate for the time period from 42 to 55 thousand years before the present. The pattern of precipitation bears a striking resemblance to the oxygen-isotope record from Greenland ice cores, with increased tropical precipitation associated with warm periods in th...
متن کاملMediterranean circulation perturbations over the last five centuries: Relevance to past Eastern Mediterranean Transient-type events
The Eastern Mediterranean Transient (EMT) occurred in the Aegean Sea from 1988 to 1995 and is the most significant intermediate-to-deep Mediterranean overturning perturbation reported by instrumental records. The EMT was likely caused by accumulation of high salinity waters in the Levantine and enhanced heat loss in the Aegean Sea, coupled with surface water freshening in the Sicily Channel. It...

the study reflected in this thesis aims at finding out relationships between critical thinking (ct), and the reading sections of tofel and ielts tests. the study tries to find any relationships between the ct ability of students and their performance on reading tests of tofel and academic ielts. however, no research has ever been conducted to investigate the relationship between ct and the read...
15 صفحه اولLimitations of red noise in analysing Dansgaard-Oeschger events
During the last glacial period, climate records from the North Atlantic region exhibit a pronounced spectral component corresponding to a period of about 1470 years, which has attracted much attention. This spectral peak is closely related to the recurrence pattern of DansgaardOeschger (DO) events. In previous studies a red noise random process, more precisely a first-order autoregressive (AR1)...
